“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.” (1 John 4:1-6)
I’ve heard many people sharing their words on the secret of darkness. Some go as far as saying how through their evil ways manage to tame pastors and Christians and cause them to do as they command them to. I have to say that they’re all liars.
These people go around, pretending to be Christians, but never confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. They pretend to know it all of the invisible world, but they are agents of the enemy themselves trying to sow doubts and false beliefs into the mind of the elect as if they could win the elect over or cause her to suffer for forgetting the truth, for forgetting her first love, Christ Jesus.
Christ spoke about them in the book of Revelation.
“Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so-called deep secrets, ‘I will not impose any other burden on you, except to hold on to what you have until I come.’” (Revelation 2:24-25)
We are to be reminded of the Power of Christ, not the enemy. Christ overcame the enemy for us. Anyone praising and glorifying the enemy is an agent of the enemy himself.
Our hope is in the Power of Christ in us. The gospel is such hope. The gospel is the truth. No truth is found in the enemy.
Just because someone is saying what we want to believe doesn’t mean that this person is telling the truth. Unless someone is sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, opinions of men are all that are left to share.
As Christ once said to those liars by trade,
“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)
