The wisdom of “under the sun” is only applicable to whatever happens under the sun in certain conditions. The wisdom of the gospel accounts for both under and above the sun for all eternity. Christ died and rose again. Nothing in Solomon’s wisdom can come near at clearly explaining such events because they’re from above. The things of the Spirit are taught by the Spirit.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone. Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
The covenant between God and His Son is better than the covenant where only God was faithful to his part and not the people of Israel. When Christ died, God rose Him up. Have mercy for those who do not believe in Christ. When they fall, they’re without hope. Christ in us is eternal life. How can anyone believe without hearing the gospel. He who doesn’t believe is dead at heart. But Christ in us is able to make us stand and keep us standing alive in our hearts. Nothing can separate (1) us from the love of (2) God in (3) Christ Jesus our Lord.
As Christ had said,
“The One who comes from above is above all. The one who is from the earth belongs to the earth and speaks as one from the earth. The One who comes from heaven is above all.” (John 3:31)
