I once lived with giants.
They would pick me up by one arm or leg and twirl me into the air flying like the wind, to catch me with strong arms and hands.
They were like the moon and the sun.
When one would stop shining, the other would shine even more.
Their voices sounded like thunders. When they sneezed, the whole universe shook. When they spoke, the whole universe listened.
At times, when they would thunder, rain would soon follow.
When they walked, the earth shook.
I looked up many times and saw them reaching the sky. Yes, they would always reach as far as I could see.
They were always touching my head.
Their heads were always out of reach unless they were lying down.
When they smiled, a rainbow glowed from east to west.
I grew and grew to become one like them. And suddenly, my giants were no longer giants to me.
I once lived in the time of giants.
Today, my giants are unseen. Their voices are almost unheard. I can’t wait to see them face to face, my Father in heaven and my Lord Jesus Christ.
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” (John 10:27-30)
