My mind can be messed up at times, forgetting for a split second where I am and who I am and to whom I belong, but my heart is always at peace in Christ. I can be down in my mind, not knowing what to say or what to do, not knowing what to make of the present situations, not knowing what tomorrow will bring, but my heart is always well assured in Christ because he dwells in my heart. I don’t know everything, but I know that Christ is in my heart and that alone completes my joy.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Daily, my new heart in Christ which is well guarded by the Holy Spirit, feeds up to my mind Christ’s hope, Christ’s joy, Christ’s peace.
“I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 11:19)
As Christ, my Lord and my God, once said:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
Jesus is the well of the living water, the Holy Spirit.
