very fitted words for a common man’s prayer to the Lord

As Paul reminded us, in our journey of faith: “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” (Romans 8:26-27)

These words are from the late Jim Croce, words that help to set my mind at ease in the Lord, when I just don’t know what to say.

“Well, I know it’s kinda late.
I hope I didn’t wake you.
But what I gotta say can’t wait,
I know you’d understand.

Every time I tried to tell you,
The words just came out wrong,
So I’ll have to say I love you in a song.

Yeah, I know it’s kinda strange.
Every time I’m near you,
I just run out of things to say.
I know you’d understand.

Every time I tried to tell you,
The words just came out wrong,
So I’ll have to say I love you in a song.

Every time the time was right,
All the words just came out wrong,
So I’ll have to say I love you in a song

Yeah, I know it’s kinda late.
Hope I didn’t wake you,
But there’s something I just gotta say.
Know you’d understand.

Every time I tried to tell you,
The words just came out wrong
So I’ll have to say I love you in a song.”

I love you Lord. I love you. And I know you love all of us, regardless of what number is on our back.
