“Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:36)
Nine people got murdered as they prayed. They probably had their head bowed and their eyes closed. Would those folks have a better chance at escaping fatalities if their eyes were open and their heads were straightened up?
When was the last time you heard, “let us all bow our heads in prayer.” And everyone did so and closed their eyes.
The day that God taught me to never comply with such nonsense again was a day of freedom of Christ in me.
I know it makes the religious leaders uncomfortable when someone like me does not comply with their man-made rules and principles.
Did you know that you could leave a Bible study or any religious gatherings without waiting for it to end, without having an emergency?
If Christ is enough for us, then let’s know that and act like it. He is our freedom to do so. He gave us the Holy Spirit to act like Him. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of freedom, freedom away from man-made rules and principles. He is our freedom to act like Christ and walk out of religion with no excuses whatsoever other than the blood of Jesus as the last and once-and-for-all religious act ever accepted by God.
