Jesus’ agenda is to restore the life of God to mankind.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

Has anyone ever asked why is it that there happens to be what seems to be casual dialogues between Satan and God?

Think about when Satan went before God to talk about Job.
Think about when Satan went to tempt Jesus our Lord.
Think about when Jesus said that Satan had asked to test Peter and that Jesus had prayed that Peter’s faith does not fail him.

What’s going on?

What’s going on is that Satan always believes to be smarter than God. His approach to God is always one where he presents himself as an advocate on behalf of God. His approach to God is always in the form of, “let me fix him for you.”

God’s answer is always, “Go ahead, have at it, but you can only do what I have allowed you to do.”

Satan wanted to prove to God that God was wrong about Job.

Satan wanted to prove to God that God was wrong about Jesus.

Satan wanted to prove to Jesus that Jesus was wrong about Peter, Paul, and any of Jesus’ disciples.

Satan will always try to play a crooked advocate with his own hidden agenda which is to steal, kill and destroy.

Jesus said,
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)

Yes, faith in God, trust in God, hope in God, the love of God never fails.

And Job, in the midst of his misery, had enough hope, enough love for God, enough trust in God to say,

“I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed,
yet inf my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!” (Job 19:25-27)
