When Jesus ever did a miracle, it was never to prove that he can do it but to demonstrate that he cares.
Like Father, like Son:
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
So beware of anyone trying to prove what they can do when they couldn’t care one bit about you. The only one who ever cared for you actually died and rose again for you: Jesus. So beware of miracle performers, money collectors, fame lovers, and yet Jesus imposters and haters.
If they’re not reminding you of Jesus, who he is to you, who he is in you, then walk away and shake the dust. The Holy Spirit reminds us Christ Jesus and his work, not boasts about what he can do. The Holy Spirit glorifies God with what God had done through Christ which is demonstrating his love for all mankind.
Be aware of those who boast in themselves and who seek to praise and glorify others, as they seek to turn your mind away from the joy, contentment, the peace, the blessing that God is already to you in Christ. Your mind is ever kept on Christ by His Spirit dwelling in you.
Your miracle is your rebirth by God’s Spirit. You have no need to be chasing after those seeking to please the eyes of mankind while they cannot satisfy the souls of men.
Rejoice in Christ and rest in him. The gospel, the greatest miracle, healed us of all our fears.
Jesus is the well of the living water, the Holy Spirit.
