Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes (Romans 10:3, 4).
The world’s sins are forgiven:
“He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)
“God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:19)
Yet those who have eternal life are those who believe in the Son:
“We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.” (1 John 5:20)
“Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:12)
Righteousness by faith. New life by faith.
Appreciation of forgiveness by faith in the Son, Jesus:
“To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” (Acts 10:43)
Everyone who believes welcomes forgiveness of sins through his name. Those who don’t believe, don’t welcome forgiveness of sins through his name. Instead, they remain confused, clueless, slaves to fear for either not having heard the truth or simply disbelieving the truth that God loves them from eternity to eternity.
Self-condemnation by disbelief. If a former slave rejects the fact that he’s been set free, in his mind he remains a slave.
Salvation is the imparting of new life, not solely forgiveness of sins.
Having my debts forgiven without my acknowledgement and appreciation serves me no good. The banks may have no outstanding balance for me. But for as long as I believe to be owing the banks, I will be as miserable as if I actually do owe payments for the bank.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. ” (John 3:16-18)
Our forgiveness of sins came by the blood.
Our new life came the pouring in of the Holy Spirit into our hearts:
“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:4-7)
Do you believe? If you believe, the Spirit of God resides in you. If you don’t, you’re still hoping to benefit from your sins.
“He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.” (Acts 16:30-34)
“You’re asking me to believe, believe what??”
Believe the gospel. Believe Jesus, the Son of God, did die to erase the debt of all of your sins. Believe this was planned by God to help you understand that he truly loves you. Believe that in Jesus you have eternal life, who is the Father. In Jesus, you have all of God.
I am, the Truth, the Spirit.
I am, the Way, the Son.
I am, the Life, the Father.
If you believe in the Son, then you have the will to be saved. Because Jesus is the will to be saved, the new covenant, the new will.
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” (John 3:17-18)
If you’re feeling guilty and helpless, that’s not from God. That’s from your conscience. What your conscience needs is the good news of Jesus Christ so that it can be tamed, so that you can breathe through Jesus Christ, the knowledge of the love of God for you.
This is what Jesus said to God, his Father:
“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” (John 17:3)
Refusing the last deed of God is an automatic refusal of God. And we cannot live without God, we cannot hope without God, we cannot sleep without God.
Believe to enjoy the will to be saved, the salvation will, the new covenant between Christ Jesus and God His Father to your benefit.
Believe.
My friends, God doesn’t want you to just go to heaven. He wants you to be seated right now in heaven. And you can only be seated in heaven at this very moment by simply believing in Jesus.
Here’s the testimony about those who believe in Jesus as it concerns heaven:
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and SEATED us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. ” (Ephesians 2:4-9)
We who believe in Jesus, in the new covenant, are SEATED with Christ. How can that be? Heaven came to their hearts in the person of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. God and His Son, Jesus, came to the heart of those who believe and rejoice at the hearing of the forgiveness of their sins through the name of Jesus. Heaven came to their hearts just as Christ has prophesied:
“Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” …”“If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”” (John 14:19-21,23)
Believe today and you will be seated with Christ in heaven. He guarantees it.
You don’t have to wait until you physically die to see if you’ll make it to heaven. Simply believe today and you will know for
sure as God and His Son come and make their home in your heart through the pouring of the Holy Spirit in you.
Believe in Jesus today, and all will be shown to you as well.
“But these are written that you may believe b that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31)
Believe, to be seated in heaven right now.
