“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26)
My son once told me, “I’m going to hell. I’ve done so many bad stuffs.” I said, “that’s the reason Christ came and died on the cross for you, to be punished for all the bad stuff you could ever do.”
Now, he probably heard or read it from somewhere. Not knowing or remembering the truth can hurt us. But the Holy Spirit is always there to remind us of the truth so that our hearts and minds are kept at peace.
At another time, he asked, “Is my name written in the book of heaven?” I said, “Jesus already wrote it for you. You have nothing to worry about because God loves you. He loves all of us.”
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23)
Criminals are not the only ones sitting behind bars. According to the law of Moses, we’re all criminals. But Christ turns criminals into children of God. Whoever believes in Jesus is a child of God.
“And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” (Romans 3:22)
Do you believe in Jesus? Yes. Then you must be a child of God. Only children of God could believe in Jesus.
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” (John 1:12-13)
Jesus is the well of the living water, the Holy Spirit.
