Free to try and try again with time, in Christ.

Church,

I am free to believe that I can
I am free to try
Whether I can or not
I will not know until I try

And if I try and fail
I am free to accept such fact
And learn from my failures
To maybe try again with time
By the Spirit that moved me to believe
That I am free to try

And when I try again and succeed
I am free to rejoice
By the Spirit that moved me to believe
That I am free to believe that I could
The Spirit that moved me to try
The Spirit that moved me to succeed

I am free to seek help from others
Yet, others will not always be able to help
others will not always be willing to help

But since I am free to believe that I can
And that I am free to try
Whether I can or not
I will not know until I try

O, the Spirit of Grace of Christ Jesus, the Spirit of Freedom of Christ.

Church, as Paul once affirmed to Timothy,

“God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

And again to those at Rome,

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we a have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:1-8)

We are free to love, free to endure, free to suffer, free to rejoice, free to forgive, free to rest, free to live, free to believe that we can, free to try, free to learn from our failures, and free to try again by the Spirit of God that moves us and not the spirit of anxiety that seeks to rush us.

Rejoice, in Christ, and rest.
